Woodward joins Joy
James Woodward one of the three senior executives “let go” by Oshkosh after it acquired JLG has joined Joy Global the Milwaukee based mining equipment manufacturer.
Woodward was executive vice president and chief financial officer at JLG when it was taken over by Oshkosh. Once the deal was completed Oshkosh let Bill Lasky, Woodward and general council Tom Singer go, on the basis that it did not require the corporate management layer at the JLG business sector going forward.
Woodward has been appointed as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Joy, replacing Donald Roof, who announced in May 2006 that he planned to take early retirement in order to "fulfill several life long ambitions unrelated to business," the company has said. Roof will remain with the company during a transition period.
