Italian rental company Giffi Noleggi has taken delivery of five 13.5 metre Comet Eurosky 14 truck mounted platforms on ultra compact Piaggio Porter chassis.
The machines offer up to six metres outreach with an unrestricted platform capacity of 200kg through 360 degrees with continuous slew and 180 degrees of platform rotation. The overall weight is 2,200kg.
The units will be based across some of the company’s new locations, which include: Bergamo, Padua, Terni, Verona, a second depot in Brescia and a third location in Rome (Appia).
The company said: “The choice to purchase Comet platforms was basically for the performance, the absence of lateral bulk due to the double sigma type pantograph riser and the articulated jib, which provides the operator with the ability to make small and precise movements when close to the work. Last but not least, the small size of the overall vehicle particularly helpful for getting into difficult places.”
Giffi Noleggi was established in 1999 by Francesco Giffi and operates from 14 locations across Italy with the aim to become a truly national rental company. It runs a fleet of around 700 machines including a wide range of aerial lifts and telehandlers.
