Ladder platform

Spotted by one of our readers, a utility linesman somewhere in the USA using a bucket truck and a ladder from the basket/bucket to reach his work.

Perhaps it is in order to allow the boom to run below overhead wires – ‘under & up’ rather than ‘up & over’? Or perhaps he has the notion that using a wooden ladder provides additional insulation?

As crazy as this is - and assuming those are not live power lines he is working alongside - it could be much worse. He appears to have harnessed himself to the pole so while he might be stranded he will not fall too far if the ladder slips out from under him, and if he did fall - the water will save him as long as he can swim.

However it is without doubt one for our Death Wish series.
