Point the Way

US based software group Point of Rental’s employee-led charitable donation group ‘Point the Way’ has gained 501 charity status, making it federal tax exempt, while allowing donations to be tax deductible.

Created in 2018 by a group of employees, the charity’s mission is to empower people to reach their full potential. Donations have included laptops to an orphanage in Kenya and tablets to classrooms in Guatemala. Point of Rental has also matched all employee donations which have included aid in South Africa, help the wildfire relief efforts in Australia and support equal justice in the United States.

Point of Rental’s director of philanthropy, Terry Harris, said: “Point of Rental, and the rental industry as a whole, is full of people who care, and who want to make an impact in people’s lives. By becoming a 501(c)3, we will be in a better position to help in a more focused, effective way.”

Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Point of Rental has offices in the UK, Australia and South Africa. In the latest issue of Cranes & Access we caught up with Point of Rental to discuss the workshop element of their rental software:
