Swiss tower crane fatality

A man has died while dismantling a tower crane on a single family home in Wittinsburg - halfway between Basle and Arau - in Switzerland yesterday.

It seems the man, 58, was crushed between two parts of the crane, which suggests that he may well have been folding a self-erector when he was caught in the machine? He was injured so badly that he died at the scene.

An investigation by the police and the local prosecutor has begun in order to clarify exactly what happened. We will update this item when we learn more.
