Airo has announced the departure of technical department director Gianluca Ferramola. A member of the family that founded Airo Tigieffe, he has spent his entire career with the company having joined in 1992.

The company has appointed Gian Luca Bulgarelli to replace him as head of the technical department and R&D director. He joins the company after 10 years with axle and components supplier Borghi Assali where he was a technical engineer. He will officially take up his new role on Monday and will report to managing director Simone Pignatti. As head of the design office his responsibilities will include the development of new models and the adoption of new technologies, with a particular focus on new ‘green solutions’ with zero emissions and greater sustainability.
