Roll and FTE Joint Venture

Dutch international heavy lift and transportation company Roll Group has formed a joint venture with FTE (Fawaz Al Shammari Transportation Establishment) Heavylift division of Saudi Arabia, to supply heavy transportation, lifting, installation, and marine services in the Saudi market.

Roll Group and FTE Heavylift will integrate their operations in Saudi Arabia to create a single joint venture company - Roll FTE - which will be based in Dammam with further yards in Jubail, Jeddah and Rabigh, providing end to end factory to foundation solutions.
The Joint Venture agreement was signed by Peter Rondhuis, the chief executive of Roll and FTE Heavylift chief executive Fawaz Al Shammari.

Roll FTE will start off with a large fleet of Conventional Hydraulic Axles, SPMT, Mobile Cranes and a range of installation equipment, all based in Saudi for rapid availability. The Joint Venture also has plans to invest in marine assets which will be registered and based in Saudi to accommodate the growing number of projects in country requiring a combined marine and land transportation solution.

We will bring to the local market the know how of the Roll Group specially in the marine transport and alternative lifting solutions to cater different project specific requirements.”

FTE/Fawaz Al Shammari Transportation Establishment was established in 1998 and set up the Heavylift division in 2013. Since then, it has grown steadily to become one of Saudi Arabia’s leading service provider for heavy lift, transport and installation.
