The Schweri team take delivery of the new crane from Tadano

Managing director Leonhard Zerni said: “The Tadano AC 5.220-1 is not only one of the most powerful five axle cranes on the market, but also the most cost effective unit of this size out there. We also like the fact that we can telescope up to 39.7 tonnes on the boom, the outrigger extension detection with the five selectable outrigger spreads, and fast setup times all of which contributed to making this purchase decision extremely easy.”

For its first job, the new crane will team up with the company’s 130 tonne Tadano ATF 130G-5, to install and set up a filter system for a new industrial plant.

Based in Krefeld, North Rhine Westphalia, Schweri Autokranbetriebe runs a fleet of truck and All Terrain cranes ranging from seven to 500 tonnes, along with Rough Terrains and self-erecting mobile tower cranes. It also runs an aerial lift fleet with working heights ranging from five to 40 metres, and telehandlers up to 17 metres/4,500kg.
