JCB fatality
An unusual accident at the farm of JCB chairman and owner, Sir Anthony Bamford resulted in the death of farm worker Tony Cripps 57 earlier this month.
Cripps was riding in the bucket of a JCB front end loader when he bounced out and was then run over by the machine itself.
Cripps had worked at New Farm near Kingham, Chipping Norton, for only three months prior to that he had been the landlord of The Plough Inn in Kingham, He had only recently completed the sale and handover of the pub to its new owner.
The 22 year old man driving the machine was promptly arrested by the local police on suspicion of manslaughter and later released on police bail.
