Genie strengthens Euro sales and support team

Genie Europe has announced two new appointments to its UK sales team and European parts & support operation.

Genie has appointed Karen Bessant as territory sales manager - UK South, working with key accounts in the region.
She joined the company late last year following a 20 year career in the forklift industry, most recently as major account manager Europe for Hyster-Yale. She began her career in 2003 as an area sales manager with Linde UK, moving to Toyota Material Handling UK after five years. In 2013 she joined Jungheinrich in a corporate development role, leaving for Hyster-Yale after two and a half years where she was national account manager. She returned to Toyota in 2017 for a four year spell before returning to Hyster-Yale.

Genie has also promoted Dominique Luijckx to director, parts & support for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India.

She joined Genie in 2018 as regional parts manager for central, eastern, south eastern and southern Europe, Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, and Africa, having previously worked for the Terex logistics partner Ceva, covering parts and logistics for both Terex cranes and Genie platforms. Prior to that she was a professional athlete and is fluent in seven languages. In her new role she reports to Jeff Hughes, global vice president of sales & marketing, and will continue to be based in the Netherlands.
