Crane bangs hole in bridge

On Thursday afternoon last week a SkyHook boom truck crane travelling down Interstate Highway I-35 near Dallas, hit a bridge so hard that the boom pierced a hole clean through the overpass pavement.

A backhoe loader and recovery truck were called in to rescue the stricken vehicle, the methods used, while effective can hardly be held up as safe practice.

The driver was taken to hospital but we understand that no serious injuries were recorded in the incident. To see a slide show of the recovery click here
