Four crane order completed

German rental company Hellmich Kranservice has taken delivery of a 50 tonne Tadano HK 4.050-1 truck crane, the final unit of a four crane order that also included two 220 tonne Tadano AC 5.220-1 All Terrains and two HK 4.050-1.

The HK 4.050-1 is mounted on a four axle Mercedes commercial chassis and can travel on public roads with its maximum 8.5 tonnes of counterweight on board, while maintaining axle loads of less than 9.5 tonnes, it can also achieve eight tonne axle loads with 4.5 tonnes on board. The crane features a 35.2 metre four section boom and can be topped by a 9.3 metre swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to almost 48 metres.

Managing director Michael Findeiß said: “Truck mounted cranes like this are fantastic from a road permit standpoint. That makes them a highly versatile option on a day to day basis. And that’s by no means the only great feature of the HK 4.050-1. For instance, we were also especially taken with its asymmetric outriggers. The HK 4.050-1 is the perfect complement to our fleet. It means we now have even greater flexibility in responding to the needs of our customers.”

Shareholder René Hellmich added: “We’ve been using HK cranes for more than 15 years, and we’ve been known to have as many as 10 of them in our fleet.”
