Fast train to Europe

Chinese aerial work platform manufacturer Sinoboom has chartered a series of Sinotrans freight trains to transport more than 500 Sinoboom platforms to Europe, via the China-Europe Railway Express.

The arrangement is aimed at providing a faster, more environmentally friendly method of shipping its products over long distances. The challenge of whether to brave the Red sea or take the longer, more expensove route around the Cape, may also be a factor in the decision?

Sinotrans is one of China’s largest logistics companies and operates an international rail freight network from four hubs in China, of which Changsha, Sinoboom’s hometown, is one. The company is to provide Sinoboom with a full range of services, designed to streamline tasks such as collection, packing and customs declarations. The result is expected to save almost a month of shipping time when compared to the current 50 days sea freight route.

Chief executive Susan Xu said: “Sinoboom has developed rapidly in overseas markets in recent years. By actively exploring efficient, localised and high quality diversified service solutions, the total revenue from overseas markets has increased by more than 100 percent in 2023. Now, with the help of the China-Europe Railway Express, orders can not only be delivered more quickly, but we also benefit from a greener and lower carbon solution. This is a real milestone for Sinoboom and our partners.”
