Crane man bailed

The ex Liebherr offshore crane man arrested in early May on suspicion of embezzling €86,000 through, was finally released last week on bail of €50,000.

He was arrested over irregular credit notes that were made to a particular customer, while the man was based at Liebherr's Sunderland facility in the UK.

The case is progressing slowing according to the local press due to the fact that investigators are having to work with the UK authorities.

The suspicious deals date back to 2005 and 2006 and some internal sources are now saying that the amounts concerned could be as high as €1.2 million.
