UK new and used crane sales company Foster Cranes, has appointed Ben Dobson, as business development manager for the South East region.
The move follows the company’s decision in February to drop the Hoeflon spider crane line in order to take on the distribution of Jekko spider cranes.
Dobson joins the company from UK manufacturer Tracked Carriers) where he has been business development manager since March of last year.
He began his career as a service engineer with truck mounted platform rental company Orion Access in 2005. After four years with the company, he moved to Nationwide Platforms where he had the chance to join the internal sales team as a hire desk clerk/dispatcher. In 2011 he was recruited by Facelift Access as a sales manager but left after two years for MBS which was expanding and setting up its spider lift rental operation as a separate business. Dobson was initially rental manager but the following year the separate company was formed, and he became a director and minority shareholder. The company acquired the Spider lift business from Steve Hadfield in 2018 and just over a year ago MBS Access was acquired by AFI with Dobson leaving to go his own way.
