A video clip posted by independent safety expert Josy John in India, shockingly highlights two potential issues when working with a boom lift.
The first is the risk of operating a boom lift from the lower controls when someone is the basket, especially if trying to extricate the person, In this case it looks as though the man was caught in an entrapment pinch between the platform controls/guardrail and an overhead beam.

The short video also highlights the risks and dangers of not having a platform entry gate in place or wiring up the drop bar gate.
As already said, while the video is shocking, and even traumatic, it does highlight the issues.
