8K milestone for Bronto

Finnish truck mounted lift manufacturer Bronto Skylift has reached a new milestone and produced its 8,000th aerial lift, a 90 metre/295ft S295HLA truck mount destined for North America.

Founded 52 years ago, Bronto Skylift developed its first units in 1972, with the 100th unit manufactured in 1976. By 1981, the company had produced its 500th unit, followed by the 1,000th in 1994. The 5,000th Bronto was completed in 2005 and December 2024 has seen the production of the 8,000th machine.

Bronto Skylift - founded in 1972 and based in Tampere, Finland - initially focused on developing aerial work platforms for fire and rescue services. Over the years, the company expanded its product offerings to include platforms for a variety of industries, such as construction, utilities and maintenance. Today, it employs 467 individuals globally throughout 120 countries with two manufacturing facilities in Tampere and Pori as well as a service centre in Pirkkala. It also has subsidiaries in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and is part of the Japanese Morita Group.
