The incident occurred on Monday, December 30th, a four axle All Terrain was lifting a vessel at the Maruti Industries, pharmaceutical/chemical plant with an aging tractor based articulated pick & carry crane tailing in.
The large vessel shifted to the side pulling the All Terrain over as the articulated crane reversed to lay the load horizontally. The boom on the falling crane went straight through the pick & carry crane’s cab, the operator - Shahid Pathan – did not stand a chance and would have died instantly.
