Chinese maritime logistics company Eastern Navigation has ordered its fifth Huisman crane, a 100 tonne ‘pedestal mount’ to support operations in the Asian Pacific offshore energy industry.
The crane is set to join the existing fleet, which includes two 300 tonne and two 100 tonne Huisman cranes, with delivery scheduled for mid 2025.
The pedestal mounted crane has virtually no tail swing in order to maximises deck space, and all main equipment (winches, electrical cabinets and hydraulic power units) are housed within the crane structure to provide protection from marine elements.
Eastern Navigation's head of projects Tan Wei Ming said: “Our long standing partnership with Huisman highlights our dedication to providing reliable high specification equipment aboard our vessels, allowing us to effectively meet the evolving demands of the offshore marine industry.”
Huisman commercial director Timon Ligterink added: “We are honoured by Eastern Navigation's continued confidence in our heavy lifting technology. With this sister vessel featuring our first 100 tonne pedestal mounted crane successfully operating for over a decade, this new contract stands as a testament to the quality and reliability of our products. We look forward to partnering with eastern navigation for many more decades to come.”
