New flagship for Sangwin

UK based Sangwin Plant Hire has taken delivery of a 230 tonne Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 All Terrain crane, which takes over as its new flagship crane.

The five axle LTM 1230-5.1 is equipped with an eight section 75 metre main boom and can be topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets by up to 40 degrees. Up to three, seven metre inserts can also be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 113 metres with the main boom at 68 metres.

Managing director Nick Sangwin said: "We are very excited about this new addition to the fleet, and I have to say that the decision process was a relatively easy one as some of our high profile customers demand the best and most modern equipment."

Established in the 1880s by Joseph Sangwin and based in Hull, East Yorkshire, the company became Hull's first crane rental company in the 1950s. Today the fifth generation family business operates a fleet of cranes with capacities from 15 to 230 tonnes, along with aerial work platforms and telehandlers.
