The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has officially launched its 2025 Global Safety Campaign 'Stop Overturns - Safety Starts on the Ground' following a 50 percent increase in fatal overturn incidents between January 2021 and December 2023.

The statistics show that 33 percent of overturns involved mobile scissor lifts, while vehicle mounted platforms accounted for 28 percent, mobile booms 23 percent and tracked platforms 12 percent. Most incidents occurred on construction sites, public areas, roads and rental yards. You can catch up with IPAF and learn more on the new and other campaigns at Bauma this week Hall C.
IPAF's head of safety & technical Brian Parker said: "Work platform overturns continue to be a major cause of serious injuries and fatalities in our industry. By understanding the risks and implementing proper safety measures, we can prevent overturns, protect lives, and create safer work environments worldwide."
