UK rental company Speedy Hire has trained 2,000 employees in CPR skills through a partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) via the company's online portal.
The CPR training follows the company's previous installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in its service engineer's vans with the defibrillators registered on the National Defibrillator Network. Staff members raised £800 for the BHF during the initiative, which supports the charity's research programmes.
Speedy’s health and safety director Andy Johnson said: "We are immensely proud of our colleagues for embracing this life saving training. This initiative isn't just about the workplace, it's about making a real difference in our communities. Every second counts in a cardiac arrest, and by equipping our teams with CPR skills and access to defibrillators, we're creating a safer environment for everyone."
Tess McGrath, BHF’s fundraising manager added: "We are really proud of our partnership with Speedy Hire and it's great to see how seriously the business takes heart health and the wellbeing of its brilliant colleagues. We are delighted that over 2,000 colleagues took part in the BHF online RevivR CPR training because every second counts in a cardiac arrest.”
