Grove duo for Wilhelm Bruns

German crane rental company Wilhelm Bruns Kranvermietung has taken delivery of two new Grove All Terrains, a 100 tonne GMK4100L-2 and 250 tonne GMK5250XL-1.
The two new cranes arrived last month

The four axle GMK4100L-2 features a 60 metre seven section main boom, topped by a 9.7 to 16 metre hydraulic luffing bi-fold swingaway extension, an additional eight metre insert can be added, for a maximum tip height of 89 metres. The crane can carry up to 6.8 tonnes of its 26 tonnes of counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads, or 21.2 tonnes where 16.5 tonne axle weights are permitted.

The five axle single engine GMK5250XL features an eight section 78.5 metre main boom topped by an 18 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be extended to 34 metres with additional inserts. Features include Grove’s Maxbase variable outrigger setup and all wheel steer. After its first job the operator commented: “As a 250 tonne driver I can only say I am very satisfied, and it is a Top machine.”

Bruns managing director Adrian Keck said: “The two new cranes combine compact dimensions and really impressive capacities. They have done a first class job on their first jobs. We equipped them with the Maxbase variable outrigger system, and they are extremely user-friendly thanks to the intuitive boom configurator. This enables us to use them on a wide range of applications.”

The Wilhelm Bruns group of companies, which also includes transport and property divisions, celebrated its 100th anniversary last year and covers a wide customer base from its Lüneburg and Hamburg locations in northern Germany. The crane rental business also runs telehandlers and aerial work platforms. It purchased its first Grove cranes in the 1960s.
