110 tonner for Richi

Swiss crane and heavy transport company Richi has taken delivery of a 110 tonne Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 All Terrain crane.

The five axle crane - set to be based at the company’s Weiningen base in Zürich - features a seven section, 60 metre main boom, topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bifold swingaway extension that can be offset by up to 40 degrees. Two extra inserts can be added between boom nose and extension to provide a maximum tip height of 96 metres.

Markus Fleck of Richi said: "To grow further in our core business, we need a powerful taxi crane. The LTM 1110-5.2 offers precisely the flexibility and performance we need. Thanks to its capacity, reach and high on board counterweight, the five axle crane is perfect for all kinds of projects."

"In most cases, we are able to use the crane without an additional vehicle for ballast transport. This means we can not only reduce the transport, but also cut our fleet operating costs and CO₂ emissions. The crane also impresses with modern engine technology, optimised exhaust gas parameters and low fuel consumption."

Founded in 1924, Richi acquired its first Liebherr crane in April 1980, a six axle 90 tonne LT 1090 truck mount. Today it operates eight All Terrain cranes from 40 to 350 tonnes, alongside two mobile self erecting tower cranes - an MK 88 and MK 100 with the MK 100 set to be replaced with a Liebherr MK 120-5.1 in first quarter of next year. The fleet also includes four truck mounts, while the company employs 150.
