Speedy welcomes 5,000

Speedy Hire has welcomed its 5,000th visitor at its National Innovation Centre in Milton Keynes, southern UK.

The facility - which also operates as a depot - hosts guided tours focused on the company’s sustainability initiatives, energy management systems, building design, and community projects.

The centre, managed by customer experience and facilities manager Del Cleveland for four years, has delivered more than 2,400 hours of tours during which visitors are shown technical features such as living walls, biodiversity measures, wellbeing spaces, and installations including the Knife Amnesty turbine and the Scouts DIY wall.

Cleveland said: "Through every tour, I'm able to show how we turn our social value ambitions into real experiences for the people who visit us. Guests get a real world view of sustainability at work, and it's inspiring to watch the next generation connect with the future of our industry. I tailor each visit to the needs of the group, and it's a genuine privilege to share the work we do and see the difference it makes to the people who come through our doors."

Local schools and colleges regularly visit the centre to participate in practical and sustainability activities with the company delivering 3,500 volunteering days each year and investing one percent of annual profits into charitable and community programmes.
