Scottish rental and heavy haulage company Global Crane Services has taken delivery of its fourth 700 tonne Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 All Terrain crane, with two 250 tonne LTM 1250-5.1’s scheduled for delivery later this year.

The eight axle crane features a basic four section 54 metre boom which converts to a six section 80 metre boom when required. A 90 metre luffing jib is also available. Other features include the VarioBallast variable counterweight system along with Variobase variable outrigger set up and monitoring. The crane will be used primarily to support civil engineering, renewable energy, port, and offshore projects.
General manager Gordon Harper said: “We are delighted to kick start the year with the delivery of our fourth LTM 1650-8.1, which will head straight out to work following the operator's induction training. The LTM 1650-8.1 is a well proven crane in our fleet and has been pivotal to our success in many wind and heavy lift projects.”

Last year, Global added seven new All Terrain cranes to its fleet, ranging from 60 to 250 tonnes, including Liebherr’s 1,000th 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2 along with a 50 tonne city crane. The company now runs a fleet of more than 70 cranes, all but one of which are Liebherr, including two 750 tonne LG 1750 lattice wheeled mobiles. Ther non Liebherr crane? - a 600 tonne Terex/Demag TC 2800-1 lattice truck crane.
Global Crane Services was established in 2013 as a division of Global Port Services - part of the Global Energy Group based in Inverness, following the acquisition of Port Services Group, which traced its roots back to 1986.
