New CEO for CICA

CICA, the Crane Industry Council of Australia, has appointed Patrick Cran as chief executive designate. He will take up the role on May 8th when the current chief executive, Brandon Hitch commences his move to the United States. See: Brandon Hitch moves to CCO

For the past 10 and a half years, he has served as CICA site operations advisor and has played a key role leading CraneSafe’s operations, systems, assessor quality, accreditation, and risk controls. Pat Cran began his crane related career in 2009 as a technician with Manitowoc Cranes Australia, becoming a CraneSafe assessor in 2012 and a trainer in late 2014, taking up his current role a few months later.

The association said: “Pat Cran has been instrumental in leading CraneSafe’s operations, systems, assessor quality, accreditation, and risk controls. His commercial leadership, coupled with practical industry credibility, all of which make him the ideal person to guide CICA into its next chapter.”

"During his tenure with CraneSafe, he has achieved measurable outcomes, including successful NATA audits, the expansion of training programs, and the launch of initiatives such as CrewSafe and StartSafe. He has also worked closely with Brandon Hitch and the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) to secure the recent landmark international partnership (Greensticker by CraneSafe USA), further cementing CICA’s position as the authority in crane safety and training.”
