Platform parts in Italy

Belgian replacement parts company Platform Parts has appointed Simone Gravina as account manager for Italy; he joins the company after more than four years with automotive lighting supplier e-llumina. His major account clients included equipment manufacturers such as crane companies JMG and Ormig.

Gravina began his career in 2015 as a consultant with insurance company Generali, moving the following year to a sales role with medical science, support and pharmaceutical companies Erbagil and Geophyt, leaving in 2017 for office equipment supplier Prean, where he was a commercial agent. A year later, he became a supervisor at food company Eat in the UK, moving in 2019 to management services company Safo as a processing officer and account manager before leaving for e-llumina in 2021.

Gravina said: “I don’t want to be the person who only shows up when there’s a sale to make. I want customers to know they can call me, talk things through and get a straight answer.”

Platform Parts is the spare parts business of Belgian used aerial lift dealer Vertimac, established in Waregem in 2011. The spare parts division was set up in 2014 and rebranded as Platform Parts last September. Last November, it acquired a majority stake in County Durham based CPS/Cherrypicker Shop, which now trades as Platform Parts UK.
