JLG offers 5 year warranty on Scissors

JLG has added a five year warranty option for its ES scissor lift range, including the recently introduced 1230ES.

The product line currently has a standard one-year warranty and a five-year warranty on structural components, extended warranty option, provides the same coverage as JLG’s standard warranty for a full five years with the sole exception of paint and decals.

“We’re extremely pleased that JLG is the first to offer customers a five-year warranty on scissor lifts. We developed this program in response to our customers’ desire to control and manage their operating costs."

"This new warranty offering allows them to do just that, and it reflects our confidence in the many recent reliability enhancements we’ve made to our ES scissor line,” said Howard Kaplan, JLG’s vice president and product parent for aerial work platforms.

Vertikal Comment

This is by no means the first time a five year warranty has been offered on aerial lifts, however in the past the optional cost has been too expensive or the number of exclusions too wide.

In terms of the exclusions JLG is offering the same conditions as on its first year coverage so this obstacle is overcome. As to price - JLG has not included this in its announcement and it probably depends on discounts and market pricing.

If the price is right it is definitely worth a look.
