Hiab acquires Tail lifts

Hiab has acquired two new tail lift companies, one in the UK - DEL Equipment (UK) Ltd based in Witney, Oxfordshire and one in the USA and Canada - Ultron Lift Corporation, which has plants in Toronto, Canada and Buffalo, New York. Both businesses are owned by Militello Holdings (MHI).

Hiab claims that DEL is the market leader for tail lifts in the in UK while Ultron is the leader in Canada. The combined revenues of the two companies was around €23 million in 2007 and they employ 164 people between them. The current management will continue in their positions in both companies.

A DEL -UK tail lift

Hiab says that the acquisitions will round out its tail lift product range and business giving it a leading position in this market.

Before changing its name in 2002 Ultron was called as DEL Liftgates. The name "DEL" came from Diesel Equipment Limited which was founded in 1945 Toronto, Canada.
