Telehandler fatality in Belfast

The Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI) is investigating a fatal accident at developer John Graham Construction's 'Bakery' development in south Belfast.

A man, named as Gerard Morgan (53), is understood to have died after he was hit by a "Fork truck type vehicle" now confirmed as a telehandler, as it was reversing at the site on the Ormeau Road.

In spite of a quick response by emergency services, Morgan is understood to have died at the scene.

Graham Construction is co-operating with the various authorities to establish the cause of this incident.
