London protesters scale crane

Two protesters have climbed a luffing jib tower crane in Parliament square, London this morning and unfurled banners saying "Referendum Now" and "Give Us Our Vote".

The tower crane protest

It comes two days before Members of Parliament are set to vote on a Conservative amendment to the EU Treaty Bill, calling for a referendum on the issue.

The crane, owned by Kier is working on renovations to the Middlesex Guildhall.
