Vp acquires NSS

UK rental company Vp (Vibroplant) has acquired Northern Site Services (NSS) and the business and assets of Northern Site Services Test & Calibration in a deal worth £800,000.

Vp acquired the business through it tool hire subsidiary Hire Station, in a £1.6 million cash share purchase. On completion, NSS had £800,000 of free cash.

NSS was established in 1993, provides temporary lighting and site electrics to the petrochemical and industrial sectors from its base in Middlesbrough. NSS will be integrated into Hire Station’s safety rental activity, ESS Safeforce.

In the year to 31 March 2007, NSS generated revenues of £0.5 million.

VP chairman Jeremy Pilkington said: “NSS is an excellent fit for ESS Safeforce providing further expansion of its specialist safety equipment offering, in support of process industry shutdown activities.
