Liebherr South American market leader

Liebherr handed over a record 15 mobile harbour cranes in South America in 2007. The cranes went to customers in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, and Costa Rica.

Nine cranes went to Brazil - three for dedicated bulk handling and six machines for container handling.

Best selling crane for the container operation is the Liebherr LHM 500. When handling Panamax container liners the LHM 500 has a capacity of 50 tons below spreader at an outreach of 40 metres, which are perfect pre-conditions for full twinlift operation up to the 13th row. Even when operating on Postpanamax container liners the LHM 500 is able of handling full 40ft containers up to the 17th row (51metres).
