Filipov hands over

Steve Filipov officially handed over the leadership of Terex Crane to Rick Nicholls yesterday evening at a surprise party to celebrate Filipov’s tenure at the help of the crane business.

Filipov thinking he was heading to a quiet dinner with one of his top customers suddenly found himself facing a room full of his colleagues, customers and distributors.

At a presentation later on in the evening, Defeo extolled the achievements of Filipov’s time at the head of the crane division and stressed how much better the business was today than when he took over in 2004.

However he also stated that there was still much that needed to be improved and felt that Rick Nicholls was well qualified to take up that challenge.

Nicholls said that he had been initially hesitant to take on the new role, having been comfortable in the materials and mining division of Terex, but on reflection feels that he has a good deal to offer to help take Terex crane to the next level.
