The company also said that Sarens has placed a 20 unit order for delivery over the next 15 months.

European sales manager Zhang Gan said that total crawler crane production is between 720 and 750 units per year with about 350-400 to be exported this year. In 2007 just 120 machines were exported.

Sany launched a 900 tonne machine in China at the end of January. The first machine has been sold in China and will work on power station construction. In total, two 900 tonne machines will be built this year and two in 2009. The company is also developing a 1600 tonne machine which is planned for launch next year as well as a 3200 tonne unit.

Last November the company’s new UK dealer Watson and Hillhouse sold its first two, 50 tonne crawlers into the UK. Sany also says that it will introduce its truck cranes into Europe this year.
