The rebuilds continue

Two months ago two young apprentices working for A.M.P the west country powered access company that is now part of Lavendon, were set the challenge to rebuild two dilapidated and abused Niftylift HR120’s.

From time to time we have carried photographs of the progress that the two, Chris Verrin-Simpson in Liskeard and Sam Lee in Taunton, have made. With less than three weeks to go before the two machines go on display at SED and Access Days the machines are nearing completion.

The Liskeard machine has a good deal of pre-paint

The unit being rebuilt by Verrin-Simpson has been partially pre-painted in Lavendon Blue, while Lee’s looks as though his unit will be painted after assembly.

With the differing paint processes the photos appear to indicate that Lee’s machine is almost done, and ready to go paint, while the other is also now quite complete.

We hope that the next photos we carry will be the finished machines ready for display. If you want to see the results of their handiwork, you can take in either Access Days or SED both of which will be held on May13th, 14th and 15th in Milton Keynes and Corby respectively.

Alternatively if you miss them there you can also see them on display at Vertikal Days June 25th and 26th at Haydock.

The rebuild programmes have been sponsored and fully supported by Niftylift.
