First day at SED marred by traffic

The sun shone at SED today as the wind kept things cool, while the aisles were not bursting there was a good turnout and most exhibitors seemed happy.

Orders were placed on a number of stands, with a surprise walk in order for the first 70 tonne Zoomlion crawler crane in the UK.

Those exhibitors who tried to leave at five were trapped for over an hour in the car park

The day was marred for many though as they tried to leave the show with many exhibitors stuck in a one hour grid lock just to leave the car park. The organisers expect to be able to open an extra road out of the Rockingham Speedway tomorrow to help move things along on what it usually the busiest day.

How just 5,000 or so cars could cause such chaos in a facility designed to handle closer to 50,000 is a mystery. Hopefully day two departures will run smoother.
