And now for something completely different

We received the following photographs yesterday of an amazing climbing excavator from a reader in the UK. While not a crae or a platform, we were intrigued enough to publish them

Sadly the information supplied with the photographs was minimal. It seems the demonstration and ingenious climbing pole were designed in order to demonstrate the qualities of this ‘Liebherr looking’ excavator.

The excavator clicks itself onto the pole

To begin the climb, the excavator clicked its quick release pad into the pole and then lifted itself up far enough to drive and jam its tracks into built in wedges on the pole.

It rases itself into the air

Then at each stage it jams its tracks into holding blocks, releases its coupling and grabs at the next step..until...

The machine was then stable enough to release its boom plate and grab onto to the next step up free its tracks and climbing another step until it reached the top.

It reaches the top ...what a stunt

We do not know when it took place, or where although it looks decidedly Asian, the resolution on the photos we were sent were not high enough to make out the names on the machine etc…T
