Goodwin joins Southern Plant

Glyn Goodwin has joined a new business within the Southern Plant division of Ballyvesey Holdings, parent of the Montgomery Group of Northern Ireland. He will head up a new division called Sky Platforms specialising in new and used access equipment.

Goodwin had been with Genie since the end of 2005 until his departure in October. Prior to that he spent many years with AJ Access. He left Genie late last year.

Ballyvesey Holdings was founded and is still owned by Harold Montgomery, and covers a range of business from truck sales and logistics to three cosntruction equipment dealerships, including Sleater Plant in Northern Ireland, which sells Terex light construction, including Genie and Southern Plant which distributes Terex products in Southern England, including London.

Sky Platforms will begin as a division of Southern Plant and be headquarted in Toddington just off junction 12 of the M1 north of London. The company will sell a wide range of new access equipment, sourcing the products most suited to the customers requirements. It will also buy and sell used equipment.

The Toddington location already includes extensive workshops and a team of service engineers. Sky Platform was officially established last week.
