Grove to launch trailer crane
Grove has unveiled a slew of innovative new products for release at this year’s Intermat show, in Paris this April.
The new products include a new concept of truck crane targeted at the European market, with a particular eye on emerging markets such as Russia. The new model, the GSK55 merges the superstructure from Grove’s GMK3055 All Terrain crane with a specially-designed chassis that acts as a trailer. The customer can use the tractor unit of their choice to haul the crane to jobsites.

The new crane will be both less expensive and have lower running costs of an All Terrain, while boasting axles loads of just nine tonnes with full 11.6 tonnes of counterweight.
The load chart of the new model will match the GMK3055, with a maximum capacity of 55 tonnes and 43 metre main boom. An optional 8.7 to 15 metre swingaway jib is also available, giving a maximum tip height of 60 metres.
Other new products will include an upgraded GMK5110-1, five axle All Terrain crane with all of the updates of the most recent Grove AT’s along with improved lifting capacities and improved 50.6 metre main boom. The GMK5100 has been Groves best selling crane in recent years.

The star of the Intermat stand with be a fully integrated telematics and crane management system with both GSM and satellite connections. Called CraneStar, which will provide a wide range of crane management and monitoring features.
On the tower crane front Potain will launch its largest city crane to date, the MDT368, with a number of new features to help make it easier to transport and erect.

The company will also introduce a new Igo self erecting tower crane, the IGO30 which can be transported on a single truck and fully fold with counterweight in situ.

The company says that it might also unveil yet another totally new mobile crane product at the Paris show.
