New group appointments at Cargotec

Cargotec, owner of Hiab loader cranes and Kalmar reach stackers has created a customer focus board of senior managers. The intention is to bring the group’s three companies closer together and “speed up the development of solutions and customer focus”.

Pekka Vauramo, senior executive vice president and deputy to the chief executive has been appointed as chairman of the Board which “will work across internal borders combining the coverage and knowledge of global sales and service network with its experience in technology, project business, product management and customer support. “

At the same time Axel Leijonhufvud has been appointed as chairman of a new supply board, responsible for the group’s long-term supply strategy, including the development of supplier and partner structure.

Harald de Graaf has been appointed as senior vice president corporate development. He also continues in his role as president of Cargotec Services. In his corporate development role he is responsible for driving Cargotec's strategy development and corporate communications.

Matti Sommarberg has been appointed chief technology officer, responsible for the long-term research, the future direction of R&D and exploitation of technology synergies within the group. He was previously senior vice president, operations development within the executive board. He also continues in his role as managing director of Cargotec Finland.


Cargotec continues the work to develop the corporation's way of working as one company, to improve overall efficiency and to increase the focus on customers. The following appointments have therefore taken place in the Executive Board.
