Layher invests in UK

Layher, the German based scaffold manufacturer has relocated to a new 12,000 square metre facility in Livingston, Scotland. The new building, which is located close to the company’s previous premises, features a new administration and management facility alongside an extensive storage yard, demonstration and training areas.

Layher’s regional manager for Scotland, Ian Wilson said: “We are paying particular attention to stockholding capability to ensure that ordering and delivery times are minimised. At the same time, the greater space available will enable us to house a wider range of products and components than ever before.”

Layher UK’s managing director, Sean Pike, added: “At a time when much of the construction industry is looking nervously towards 2009, we believe that the steps we are taking are even more important than ever and clearly look well beyond business in 2009 towards continuing growth long into the future.”

Layher UK is headquartered in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, the privately owned company recently broke ground on a additional production facility in Güglingen near Heilbronn, southern Germany.Click here to see full report
