Turner also succeeds Donald G. Moes, as chief executive of Pon North America, following his retirement earlier this month.

Turner, an American citizen, joined Pon in 2003 as president of its W&O Supply operation in Jacksonville, Florida and relocated to Holland in 2007 to become managing director of Pon Power.

Talking of the merger of Gunco, HDW, Statech and Milcon into the material handling group, Turner said: “Combining all of Pon’s materials handling companies under one umbrella will give us the opportunity to adapt best practices from both continents and deploy our resources where they provide the best return. It also allows us to develop stronger relationships with customers and suppliers whose operations are increasingly becoming global.”

“While this is a challenging time for the material handling and aerial lift business, Pon is committed to be an industry leader for years to come. We will continue to acquire successful companies that fit our performance criteria and whose employees can grow with us.”
