Schuch adds 500 tonne Terex

Lifting and transportation company Schuch Group has added a 500 tonne Terex AC 500-2 to its fleet to meet the increased demand for heavier lifting capacity in Europe. The crane will be operated in Germany, France, Belgium and Holland from its Saarbrücken location.

“We decided on the AC 500-2 because it was the most powerful crane in its class,” says Christopher Schuch. “The inspection and back-fitting work we do for our customers in the industrial sector requires a powerful machine with excellent manoeuvrability that makes optimal use of limited space conditions thanks to the Terex star-type outriggers.”

The Terex AC 500-2 is equipped with a sideways Superlift system and star-type outriggers, and was delivered to Schuch with a 90 metre jib and 180 tonnes of counterweight.

Managing partner Roman Schirra adds: “We can use the crane for all types of operations thanks to the flexibility that came with ordering the unit with the maximum level of equipment available.”

The crane’s first contract is a wind turbine installation project near Mönchengladbach. With its 17.1 metre undercarriage length, the Terex AC 500-2 claims to be the most compact eight-axle crane in its class. Its maximum working height is 145.8 metres.

With eight locations in Europe and North Africa, the Schuch Group's range of services includes crane services, heavy load transportation, machine relocation, loading crane, aerial work platform, and vacuum truck leasing and trading services.

The company’s core business is its 89 mobile cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 30 to 600 tonnes
