Crane falls at supermarket

A crawler crane tipped over at a supermarket in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland today. Photographs suggest that one of the crane’s tracks sank or collapsed into an underground void, causing it to tip sideways.

The crane which was operated by Graham Construction, remained largely undamaged, but its hook block and chains crashed through the supermarkets roof, into the manager’s office, landing on his office chair.
