Watch your back

We have received reports that truck mounted lifts in the North of England have recently been followed to site by competitors. The reports, which have been substantiated to the level that it has happened at least once, involve a black Mondeo following a truck mounted lift for a considerable distance.

So if you operate truck mounted lifts in the North of England make sure that your drivers keep a close eye on suspicious cars in their mirrors. We are led to believe though that this practice has now been stopped.

Vertikal Comment

This is the subject of our latest online poll, and our editorial what is fair? And where do you draw the line?

Adding to that, most good rental companies urge newcomers to carve out their own customer base helping to expand the market, inevitably of course this will involve competing with frequent users... that is business.

However if a company has done some solid work seeking out new users that are unknown to the others it seems wrong and lazy for a competitor to uncover those customers by slyly following the equipment to site.

Hopefully this is truly a one off aberration and not a new twist in a list of shady practices.
