59 unit order for MEC

Birmingham, UK based Platform Hire Ltd has taken delivery
of a further 59 scissor lifts from MEC UK.

The new units join a number of MEC machines that the company has operated for more than a year.

The order includes a combination of electric slab scissors and diesel rough terrain models, with a further order remaining for delivery at the end of this year and early 2010. A condition of the order was that all the batteries are pre-treated with Thermoil Battery De–Mister additive, which Platform Hire has added to all of its existing fleet.

Platform Hire owner Dave Williams said: “We have chosen to make this significant investment in further MEC products based upon the reliability and performance of the machines we already run. We now have customers who ask for MEC units specifically and have found the equipment to perform extremely reliably regardless of working conditions.

Martin Davies of MEC Europe added: “We are obviously delighted that Dave and his team at Platform Hire have chosen to further invest in MEC and our products. He is known within the industry as someone who knows his Kit and who also doesn’t pull any punches, if he thinks something is not up to the job. This makes this order even more valuable to MEC.”
