Fatal bucket truck overturn
A man died and another was seriously injured when a bucket truck overturned in Aberdeen, South Dakota last Friday.
The lift was working on overhead lights in the car park of a Wal-Mart store at a height of around six metres, with the lower boom at a shallow angle when the truck, which was not stabilised, went over backwards.
The knuckle at the top of the lower boom hit the ground and caused a catapult effect which ejected the two men, working from separate fibreglass buckets.

R.I.P. Michael and sending get well wishes to his colleague. I wonder: did they have harnesses and lanyards, why no outriggers employed and where was their supervisor?
