Haulotte jumps 20%

Haulotte has posted its full year revenues for 2014, which show a strong increase in sales and product support revenue.

Total revenues for the company were €412.6 million 20 percent up on 2013, of this, new equipment sales were €349 million up 23 percent on the prior year, while Haulotte’s rental operations increased just four percent to €23 million. Revene from services – which includes product support – came in at €40.6 million an increase of 13 percent on 2013.

Geographically revenues were strong in most areas, rising 33 percent in Asia-Pacific, 29 percent in Europe, and 28 percent in North America. The only exception was South America where sales fell 25 percent in the year.

The company expects profits before allowing for the effect of exchange rates to come in at similar levels as seen in the first half, suggesting an operating profit for the year on the region of €27 million, which could translate into pre-tax profits of around €21 million. The company is forecasting an increase in the region of five percent for 2015.

Vertikal Comment

A solid result from Europe’s largest aerial lift manufacturer – now translates into around $466,000, a strong bounce back from the depths of the recession but some way behind Skyjack which has clearly taken over as the main challenger to Genie and JLG in terms of self-propelled lift sales.

With the new boom lifts from Haulotte getting increasingly solid reviews from customers, the company should do well in 2015, and we would expect it to comfortably exceed the five percent forecast, however the global economic environment is still uncertain so five percent is probably a wise prediction at this stage in the new year.

The company’s full results will be released next month.

I have watched this company for quite some years now and seen at first hand the trials and tribulations of a company and owner Pierre Saubot strive to achieve their dreams and goals. After all they were taking on the might of the American manufacturers and of course " their " dream/invention. Now obviously in the very safe and entrepreneurial skills of Alexander.... Like father like son or should I say.... Tel pere tel fils. I watch with intrigue and a certain confidence as to what the future brings for this European company ;)
